engage,
transform,
empower.

We create kid-friendly resources that support families to explore social justice together.

why we do this

We know what it’s like to feel worried about the messages our kids are receiving from the world around us and how hard it is to translate big issues and ideas into language and context that our kids can understand. We recognize that this is especially difficult when these concepts or world-views are not things that we were exposed to or taught about when we were kids.

That’s why we design our resources to support parents and other caregivers to gain tools for engaging with their kids about difficult topics. We want you to feel confident in exploring social justice with your kids.

support

Support parents and caregivers to proactively introduce and address issues of social justice with their children.

empower

Empower kids with the tools and language to confront injustice and dismantle oppressive systems.

challenge

Challenge caregivers to do deep learning and unlearning work through introspection and action.

our mission

to create learning resources that support parents in addressing social justice issues with their kids.

our vision

a movement of kids and caregivers who are empowered to act and create change in their communities and the world at large.

about our work

At Dandelion Learning, we provide tangible, easy-to-use tips and tools for starting conversations, deepening your child’s understanding (as well as your own), and integrating this new awareness into your everyday lives. Our learning resources are unique in that they provide parents with the opportunity to look inward and investigate their own complicated relationship to the social justice issue at hand. We create age-appropriate and engaging activities, projects, and challenges to help families explore social justice together.

accountability

We believe that accountability is a vital aspect of change-making work and that all people, businesses, organizations, and communities who are working to create change need to be exploring what practices of accountability can look and feel like.

who’s behind it

Meet Emily

Emily is a queer feminist nanny, dreamer, and activist; excited by the multitude of possibilities our movements are working towards; empowered by the individual and collective resistance taking place every day; and inspired by the futures that we will create together. I strive to show up with creativity and integrity in my communities and in the fight for justice and liberation for all. I’m always working to dig deeper, be challenged, and grow into consistently better versions of myself. In this life-long process, I recognize the need to unlearn, question, and investigate my own biases and privileges and to find ways to be accountable to my communities and to the world at large.
